ONLINE WORKSHOP- “Boost Your Immunity” with Restorative Yin Yoga and Meditation- Prepare yourself for combating ‘viral infections’ this winter. 

( Friday, 11th  September 2020 5.30pm to 7.45pm  for £30)

In Yogic science, the immune system is comprised of a protective barrier of  Prana ( “the life force”) , that circulates through the soft tissues while also emanating about an inch around the outside of the body. Like a force field,  a strong ‘prana’ or energy field prevents external pathogens, like viruses and bacteria, from making us sick. In the backdrop of Covid-19 challenge, a lot of people have been under physical, emotional and mental stress  on different accounts. This lowers the ‘prana’, resulting in lowering our immunity, making us vulnerable to catching ‘infections’.

The good news is…Yin yoga can boost your immunity. This particular workshop is intended to stimulate your lymphatic system. The lymph actually moves from feet to neck, which isn’t how we are naturally oriented, so we will be incorporating shapes where the feet and lower body may be above the upper body. The lymph is a major part of our immune functioning, in fact, its major function is to transport lymph (which is infection fighting white blood cells) through the body. This sequence is intended to improve immune functioning through lymph drainage, along with the other typical benefits of a yin practice. Equally important, there are ‘pranayama’ / breathing techniques which stimulate the lymphatic system and you will be learning. You will find chest openers, twists, and mindful breathing practices. All designed to release the body of stagnant energy, detoxify, and support the immune system.

What is Yin Yoga?  Yin Yoga is suitable for beginners. Is a gentle, soft energy which works in regulating the ‘prana’ across the body. The asanas are held for a minimum of 2-3 minutes and work on the ‘joints’. This allows the connective tissue around the joints to relax, stretch and hence creates ‘mobility’. Most of the asanas are practised sitting or lying down. Mentally and emotionally we get an opportunity to have positive thoughts through ‘affirmations’. We anchor our attention in our ‘breath’ which gives benefits of ‘calmness’.

Mindfulness : You will learn and practice a technique to bring ‘calm’ and ‘grounding’ withing your body, mind and emotions. You will be able to take away to integrate into your lifestyle for lasting benefits.

Who is Eligible? If you are going through ‘extreme stress’, ‘feeling burdened’, ‘recovering from a chronic illness’, recommended to Yoga for ‘injury healing of joints’, ‘post operative recovery’, looking for ‘restoration and relaxation’, to ;enhance flexibility’, ‘re-energise’ and ‘re-connect’ to your inner power- this workshop will benefit you.

What we require? Please find a ‘quiet’ space indoors, where you will be undisturbed. You will need a 1.Yoga Mat. 2. Yoga blocks/ a bolster/a rolled up towel/ a blanket.3. A bottle of water. 4. Your online equipment, ( preferably a laptop)- fully charged!! You will be sent a Zoom link to login.
