Why YIN YOGA?
A soft, gentle style of hatha yoga informed by Chinese Daoist practices, with a focus on the meridians and proper alignment is in tune with the ancient Yogic science of Chakra Balancing. The poses are passively held for 1 to 5 minutes to help strengthen joints, ligaments, and fascial tissues. A yin yoga sequence is suitable for beginners or people recovering from muscle injuries as can help your body stretch, lengthen, and recover from stress and workouts. Our workshops blend ancient Yogic science and Affirmations to create rich, holistic themes relevant for wellness in the modern world.
What to Expect :
Healing is about integrating and balancing these energies in the second major energy center, the sacral/hara chakra, to overcome anger /guilt / shame /fear and develop self control, passion and compassion. You will learn about the physical, emotional and energetic dimensions of this energy center to help you figure out the source of imbalance. You will practice MEDITATION, BREATHING, ASANAS and AFFIRMATIONS that will release blockages, create awareness and an opportunity to release long held negative energy bringing restoration and balance leaving you deeply relaxed.
Correcting imbalance in your life by opening your sacral chakra can be made easier by attempting a sequence of 10 asanas sitting and lying down on the floor. These will include hip openers like Garland Pose, Low Lunge, Bound Angle Pose, Pigeon Pose, Goddess Pose and few side bends and back bends to enjoy a full body opening up. You will be learning a new Qui-gong breathing technique to help navigate the asanas.
This workshop available to all. As each position is held longer, so please have some props, cushions, blankets and pillows to support yourself if practicing at home, as we are always better when supported.
